Susan Boyle – I don’t want my fame to end

Susan Boyle on Britain's Got Talent
Susan Boyle has confirmed that she wants to stay in the public eye following her success on Britain’s Got Talent.
The 48-year-old star is currently working on her debut album after finishing in second place on the ITV1 talent show Britain’s Got Talent in May.
Susan Boyle’s original audition for the programme became a YouTube sensation earlier this year, but her achievements were later marred by reports of an emotional breakdown due to the pressures of fame.
Speaking about her experiences for NBC News, the star revealed: “It’s just been unbelievable – it’s indescribable. Being plucked from obscurity is a bit like going on a long journey, really – you don’t know what’s going to happen. You don’t know how it’s going to end.”

Britain’s Got Talent judge Simon Cowell recently promised that Boyle’s debut single would be “fantastic”.

ITV admit did make mistakes in their handling Susan Boyle

Susan Boyle on Britain's Got Talent
Sir Michael Grade has admitted that ITV did make mistakes in their handling of Britain’s Got Talent contestant Susan Boyle.
Susan became a worldwide sensation almost overnight, but was later admitted to the Priory with exhaustion after failing to win the show.
Speaking to BBC , the ITV executive chairman said: “Nobody has ever been that famous so quickly in that short space of time, within days, within hours of the show.
“She threw herself into it all and probably didn’t pace herself. I mean, we didn’t pace her well enough. There were American news networks wanting interviews with her, Japanese networks wanting interviews with her and that demand, it was pretty exhausting.
“If you were an established star used to dealing with it, you would have found it pretty exhausting, so it was a difficult time for her dealing with all this stuff.
“But it was just an extraordinary situation and why shouldn’t she enjoy her success? She’s waited all her life.”
Show judge Simon Cowell recently recognised that he had made errors in his treatment of Susan Boyle.

Mariah Carey Susan Boyle
Mariah Carey Feels Sorry For Su-Bo
Susan Boyle can add pop superstar Mariah Carey to her list of famous friends after the diva (Mariah, not Su-Bo) insisted she’s not surprised the Scottish singing sensation is freaked out by her sudden rise to stardom.
Boyle became an international star overnight when she showed off her singing skills on U.K. TV show Britain’s Got Talent, but the instant interest became too much for the spinster to handle – she checked into a mental health clinic after her final appearance on the show.
Carey, who herself suffered a physical and emotional breakdown in 2001, is far from surprised. She says, “I feel bad for her… We build people up so quickly now that of course it’s going to freak some people out. It’s difficult. It’s got to be tough.”

Susan Boyle could miss Britain’s Got Talent tour and US trip

susan boyle singing
Susan Boyle could reportedly drop out of the Britain’s Got Talent live tour following her admission to the Priory clinic.
The 48-year-old singer, who was the runner-up in this year’s competition, checked into the North London clinic yesterday after feeling “exhausted and emotionally drained”.
Speaking to The Times, Chris Thompson from the Priory Group said that patients are expected to complete a 21-day course of treatment.
“You have to be referred here by a GP. We are talking about people with a diagnosable mental disorder,” he explained.
A spokesperson for Talkback Thames said that Boyle is taking “a few days out for rest and recovery”, but if she chooses to complete the recommended treatment then she could miss the live tour, which starts on June 12.
She is also expected to miss a scheduled trip to the US, where she has become a sensation thanks to a YouTube clip of her singing ‘I Dream A Dream’ from Les Miserables.
Thompson added: “That Susan Boyle appears to have broken down in some way so close to the end of the series suggests there is a link. I would want to know that people being exposed to such pressures are given proper care.”
Earlier this week, judge Piers Morgan dismissed speculation that Boyle had suffered a breakdown, insisting that she entered the facility voluntarily in order to “get away from the show, the media, the public and have some downtime”.
