Piers Morgan has no regrets over Boyle

Piers Morgan on Susan Boyle
Britain’s Got Talent judge Piers Morgan has insisted that the show’s producers did all they could to protect Susan Boyle.
The ITV1 programme was accused of exploitation after Boyle checked in to The Priory clinic with exhaustion last week.
Reports also claimed that the Scottish singer had suffered a breakdown after facing press criticism and losing out to dance troupe Diversity in the live final.
Writing in The Mail On Sunday, Morgan explained: “I don’t blame the papers, TV and radio for pursuing the story, or even how they pursued it. But I do find some of their shameless finger-pointing faintly ridiculous.
“I cannot think of a single thing more that anyone could have done for Susan. Or a single rule change that could be made to protect future contestants from dealing with the unique problems of experiencing the unprecedented worldwide attention she has had.
“Susan wanted to be on this show, has no regrets about doing it, is well on the road to a full recovery already and came out of The Priory last week after just a few days.
“Now she wishes to pursue her dream of making an album, a disc that I would guess might sell somewhere north of ten million copies given her astounding popularity in America, making her the biggest selling female artist of the next 12 months.”
Boyle was recently tipped to make a comeback on the Britain’s Got Talent live tour following her recovery.

Susan Boyle tipped for comeback at Britain’s Got Talent tour

susan boyle singing
Britain’s Got Talent chiefs are hoping that Susan Boyle will take part in the programme’s live tour, according to a report.
The Scottish singer’s involvement in the shows was thrown into doubt after she checked in to The Priory clinic with exhaustion earlier this week.
Boyle finally left the facility yesterday and is now said to be making plans for her future in the music industry.
A source told The Mirror: “I would be very surprised if she didn’t do [the tour].”
Boyle reportedly felt “emotionally drained” after losing out to dance troupe Diversity in the show’s live final last weekend.
The insider added: “I think her breakdown was because she didn’t win and didn’t understand the industry. She thought her career was over. But now she has been told that she still has a shot at success – and she’s raring to go. The decision’s been very much put in her hands. She’s under no pressure.”
The Britain’s Got Talent tour begins in Birmingham on June 12.

Susan Boyle reunited with her pet cat
SUSAN BOYLE was finally reunited with her pet cat yesterday.
The Britain’s Got Talent runner-up flew back to Scotland on Saturday after recovering sufficiently to leave the clinic where she had been treated for stress.
But instead of going to her West Lothian home, minders from the TV show had arranged a secret hideaway for the star to continue her recuperation.
Yesterday, one of them turned up at her house in Blackburn to pick up Susan’s beloved Pebbles.
He ferried the pet in an animal transportation box into his car before driving her to the reunion with Susan.
A neighbour said: “Susan loves her cat and can’t be without it for long.
“I’m not surprised she was desperate to see Pebbles, she must have been missing it terribly.”
Her nephew, who arrived at the house expecting her to be there, said: “I thought she was coming back here today but there’s no sign of her.
“I do know that she’s doing fine and she’s back to normal.
“We’re hoping to see her soon and we hope things can settle down a bit.”
Susan’s reunion with Pebbles came after earlier plans to take the cat to London were set aside.
Britain’s Got Talent bosses originally planned to surprise the fragile singer by taking Pebbles to the Priory clinic where she was being treated.
She had been admitted to the north London clinic with exhaustion after suffering a breakdown following the show’s grand final on May 30.
She lost the public vote to dance troupe Diversity and broke down hours later in her hotel room.
Susan is now being tipped as Britain’s answer to US chat show queen Oprah Winfrey.
Singer Sinitta said: “I think she’s become so big, she’ll become the British Oprah because I think she’s the voice of the people.
“She’s like a proper British woman who is in touch with other people.
“I can imagine people phoning her and being comfortable opening their hearts to her.”

DEMI MOORE is reportedly set to offer Scottish singing sensation SUSAN BOYLE $45,000 (£30,000) to sing at her and ASHTON KUTCHER’s wedding anniversary later this year (09).
Moore and her actor husband became fans of Boyle following her performance on U.K. show Britain’s Got Talent earlier this year (Apr09).

A source tells the publication, “Demi and Ashton think Susan is absolutely brilliant, in a fantastically unique and kitsch way.
?Demi joked to Ashton about booking Susan to sing for him. She wanted her to lift up her skirt and flash her knee, the way she did with Piers Morgan.
?And Demi has teased Ashton that Susan would eat him alive. The idea is a cocktail party at home in Los Angeles, the highlight being Susan singing.”

Susan Boyle upset over pet cat
Boyle’s cat could visit her in The Priory

Susan Boyle and Pebbles
SINGING sensation Susan Boyle could have visits from her cat as she continues to battle exhaustion in The Priory.
Britain’s Got Talent chiefs want to surprise the singer by reuniting Susan Boyle, 48, with her beloved cat Pebbles.
Susan Boyle’s anxiety at being apart from Pebbles is said to have contributed to her problems.
Shortly before Susan Boyle was admitted to The Priory, in north London, she was mumbling about the cat.
Pebbles could be flown to The Priory, but if doctors don’t allow the cat to visit, Susan Boyle could be flown to Scotland.

Mencap spokeswoman applauds Susan Boyle
A spokeswoman for Mencap has praised Susan Boyle for her achievements on Britain’s Got Talent.
Ciara Evans, who like Boyle has a learning disability, told The Sun that it would not be fair to forbid those with such problems to appear on reality talent shows.
Evans said: “It’s been great to see Susan Boyle get so far. You rarely see people with a learning disability in the media.
“Some people have suggested that people who have a learning disability should be stopped from going on Britain’s Got Talent.
“This would mean denying 1.5 million Brits the chance to take part. This makes no sense and is discriminatory.”
She added: “Shows like Britain’s Got Talent are great because they are accessible for everyone. Susan has the potential to be a superstar – she just needs the right support to get there.”
Boyle was admitted to the Priory clinic on Monday after reportedly suffering from exhaustion following her experience on the show.

Ofcom to look into Susan Boyle complaints

Susan Boyle on Britain's Got Talent
Ofcom has said that it will look into complaints from the public regarding the treatment of Susan Boyle by Britain’s Got Talent bosses.
The 48-year-old was admitted to the Priory clinic for exhaustion after she finished as a runner-up to eventual winners Diversity in Saturday’s live final.
A spokesman for the communications regulator said: “There have been a number of complaints regarding various aspects of the show.
“We will look at all the complaints, but at this stage we are not planning on launching an investigation into it.”
Boyle’s older brother John had previously accused show bosses of not taking enough care of the singer, while Piers Morgan denied claims that Simon Cowell was unconcerned with her well-being.
