Susan Boyle  felt like she was in a pressure cooker during Britain’s Got Talent.

In an interview with the Daily Mail, Susan  explained that she had not been prepared for all the media attention and ended up being admitted to The Priory following the show’s final.

“Everything had built up and I was exhausted,” she said. “There were a lot of press people outside my door, a lot of television people, a lot of people who wanted a piece of me. I thought, ‘God, what’s happening here? I’m a reasonable singer but I never expected that’.

“It got to the stage where I couldn’t even go outside because the media – American television crews too – surrounded the house. I had to draw my blinds, and even after that they started hammering on my door.

“I was quite frightened. I felt very vulnerable, because I was living on my own. There were phonecalls 24 hours a day. They kept me awake for three weeks, until I changed my number. It was just constant. I don’t know anybody else from a talent show who got that.

“It was like being inside a giant pressure cooker, where the lid bubbles up and bubbles up and soon the pressure cooker goes.”

Boyle added that the pressure continued to increase as the show went on, explaining: “It was totally out of control, like a steamroller. It just got bigger and bigger and bigger, until eventually it can flatten you.”

Susan who had  became unwell after finishing in second place due to the enormous pressure, said she had been determined to perform

“I just went through to the dressing room and I don’t know what was wrong,” she said. “I couldn’t even see properly. I hadn’t eaten for about a week, hadn’t slept properly. It was like looking at everything through a glass, and the feeling was one of extreme exhaustion that manifested itself in firing off at everyone.

“It was like the dream had gone pop – a baby that’s had the sweeties taken away. I was just being childish. I so desperately wanted to make a record. I wanted to prove myself a bit more, but maybe I was pushing myself a bit too hard. I felt I’d got so close.

“I don’t remember much else. I just know someone sent for an ambulance and I went to The Priory. I needed to sleep. I was too tired to even think straight. I’m much stronger now, though.”

ITV admit did make mistakes in their handling Susan Boyle

Sir Michael Grade has admitted that ITV did make mistakes in their handling of Britain’s Got Talent contestant Susan Boyle.

Susan became a worldwide sensation almost overnight, but was later admitted to the Priory with exhaustion after failing to win the show.

Speaking to BBC , the ITV executive chairman said: “Nobody has ever been that famous so quickly in that short space of time, within days, within hours of the show.

“She threw herself into it all and probably didn’t pace herself. I mean, we didn’t pace her well enough. There were American news networks wanting interviews with her, Japanese networks wanting interviews with her and that demand, it was pretty exhausting.

“If you were an established star used to dealing with it, you would have found it pretty exhausting, so it was a difficult time for her dealing with all this stuff.

“But it was just an extraordinary situation and why shouldn’t she enjoy her success? She’s waited all her life.”

Show judge Simon Cowell recently recognised that he had made errors in his treatment of Susan Boyle.

Simon Cowell has admitted that he made errors in judgement over his handling of Susan Boyle.

The Britain’s Got Talent singer was admitted into the Priory clinic earlier this month after suffering from exhaustion following losing out to Diversity in the talent show’s final.

He told The Mirror: “I suddenly realised she didn’t know how to cope with losing. We didn’t handle it well.

“At the crucial point in the final, I looked at her face and thought, ‘Christ, she doesn’t know how to deal with not winning’. It was a bad moment.”

Boyle cancelled a fourth performance of the reality series’s live concerts in Cardiff last night.

Earlier this week, Cowell’s fellow judge Piers Morgan said that she was “mentally fine” and further accused the media of hypocrisy.

Susan Boyle performs for home crowd in Scotland

Susan Boyle has performed in front of her home crowd on the Britain’s Got Talent live tour, says Metro.

The 48-year-old from Blackburn, West Lothian took to the stage at Glasgow’s SECC last night, after missing two performances in Manchester over the weekend.

Onlookers said that she sang ‘I Dreamed A Dream’ and ‘Memory’ from the musical Les Miserables for thousands of her Scottish fans.

Boyle’s appearance at the concert had been in doubt after she was forced to pull out of a matinee and evening performance at Manchester’s MEN arena on doctor’s orders.

It was previously suggested that Boyle would not be performing on every leg of the Britain’s Got Talent tour, as she recently completed a stint in the Priory for exhaustion

Susan Boyle’s comeback impresses fans

I am back of my holiday and time for a catch up 🙂

Britain’s Got Talent star Susan Boyle will charge £8,000 per minute at a series of corporate gigs this summer, a report claims.

According to the News Of The World, the show’s runner-up is being booked to perform 12-minute sets for clients at a price of £100,000.

A source told the newspaper: “She’s the biggest star to have come out of Britain’s Got Talent, so her price to sing reflects that.”

Boyle has already been tipped to become a ‘global superstar’ over the next year, despite losing out to dance troupe Diversity in the competition’s final last month.

The 48-year-old singer recently checked out of the Priory clinic after receiving treatment for exhaustion and later made a well-received comeback on the first night of the Britain’s Got Talent live tour.

Boyle’s corporate bookings are reportedly being handled by Industry Music Group agent Andrew Pountain, who is also working with the programme’s other finalists

Susan Boyle’s comeback

Susan Boyle returned to the stage last night for her first public performance since she checked out of the Priory clinic.

The Scottish singer reportedly wowed fans with renditions of Les Miserables number ‘I Dreamed A Dream’ and ‘Memory’ from Cats on the first night of the Britain’s Got Talent live tour in Birmingham.

Boyle’s involvement in the project was thrown into doubt after she checked in to the Priory with exhaustion earlier this month.

However, it was later suggested that Boyle would go ahead with the live gigs after Simon Cowell boosted the star’s confidence by predicting a bright future for her.

The 48-year-old singer is believed to have received a standing ovation from fans following last night’s set at the Birmingham National Indoor Arena. The concert also featured show winners Diversity and the programme’s other finalists.

One crowd member told the Daily Mail: “Everyone was wondering how Susan was going to do. But she looked confident and her voice sounded amazing. She didn’t look like someone who was in the Priory just a week ago.”

Boyle is expected to start working on a West End-themed album after the 23-date jaunt finishes later this month.

Susan Boyle will release a West End-themed album before Christmas, say tabloid reports.

According to The Sun, the 48-year-old spent Wednesday in a recording studio with producers from Sony Music.

The tracklisting will apparently include Boyle’s favourite West End hits, her cover of ‘I Dreamed A Dream’ and potentially a duet with her idol Elaine Paige.

“Wednesday was Susan’s first day as a recording artist – she had a brilliant time,” said a source. “She talked about what songs she wanted for the album – it’s going to be a case of trying to pin her down to her favourite ten or so.”

Boyle is expected to only appear at a limited number of Britain’s Got Talent tour shows because of her recent admission to the The Priory clinic with exhaustion.

The 23-date jaunt, which features all the acts from the ITV1 show final, opens in Birmingham tonight.

Susan Boyle won’t manage entire Britain’s Got Talent live tour

Susan Boyle will reportedly only take part in a number of shows on the Britain’s Got Talent live tour.

The 48-year-old, who was admitted into the Priory clinic suffering from exhaustion after losing out to Diversity in the ITV1 show final, is said to be conserving her energy to record an album.

Boyle is currently in London where rehearsals for the 23-date live show are taking place, however organisers are yet to confirm whether she will perform on the opening night in Birmingham on Friday.

“Everything depends on Susan and how she feels. We have made it clear that we are in her hands and we just want to make sure that she is fit and well,” a source told The Sun.

“At the moment it looks like Susan will join the rest of the BGT finalists on stage on some of the dates, but she won’t do the entire tour. The details are still being worked out.

“Susan is most excited about starting work on her album and we have a responsibility to make sure she is cared for and is happy and well.”

Boyle’s brother Gerry recently dismissed speculation that the talent show star had a learning difficulty.
