Amanda Holden – I predicted Boyle’s breakdown

Amanda Holden has claimed that she predicted Susan Boyle’s would have a breakdown days before it occurred even though she earlier stated ‘Susan Boyle has no underlying mental issues’

Susan Boyle was checked into The Priory rehab clinic after coming second to Diversity in the show’s final.  The shows producers later confirmed that she was “exhausted and emotionally drained”.

Reflecting on the whole event , Holden told the Daily Star: “I was worried Susan wouldn’t be able to handle it. Then, a week later she checked into The Priory. I was like Mystic Mandy.”

Susan Boyle eventually left the after five days and was instantly snapped up by Simon Cowell‘s record label. She is now currently working on her debut album.

Simon Cowell recently stated  that Susan’s breakdown came because she “didn’t know how to cope with losing”.

Susan’s brother  Gerry has agreed with the music mogul’s view, commenting: “Susan doesn’t take rejection very well. That’s not to say she doesn’t bounce back, she does. It’s a lack of confidence and a case of getting overworked up. With Britain’s Got Talent, it all just became too much.”

Susan Boyle with idol Elaine Paige

This is such a nice story – Susan Boyle was reportedly left “starstruck” after a meeting with her idol Elaine Paige.

According to The Sun, the Britain’s Got Talent star discussed a potential duet and the troubles of fame with the Radio 2 presenter.

“Susan was completely starstruck. It was like watching a kid at Christmas,” said a source. “It really was a dream come true.”

Paige voiced her support for the singer throughout the ITV1 talent show after Boyle claimed that she aspired to be like the veteran West End performer at her first audition.

Boyle is currently working on her debut album, which Simon Cowell has claimed will “surprise” her critics.

She is rumoured to have recorded a cover of Ella Fitzgerald’s blues track ‘Cry Me A River’ for the LP, a song she previously performed on a charity CD in 1999.

Time to place them bets on Susans Xmas number one I think :)

Simon Cowell has claimed that Susan Boyle’s debut album will surprise many listeners.

The Britain’s Got Talent judge insisted that the LP will not include throwaway “show tunes” and claimed that the Scottish singer was “blown away” by some of the tracks they picked to record.

“We’re not going to throw out some souvenir album of show tunes which everyone expects,” he told Extra.

“We went through about 350 to 400 songs to choose from. She was blown away by some of the song choices… She’s going to surprise a lot of people with this record.”

Boyle finished runner-up on this year’s Britain’s Got Talent, behind dance troupe Diversity.

Susan Boyle – I don’t want my fame to end

Susan Boyle on Britain's Got Talent

Susan Boyle has confirmed that she wants to stay in the public eye following her success on Britain’s Got Talent.

The 48-year-old star is currently working on her debut album after finishing in second place on the ITV1 talent show Britain’s Got Talent in May.

Susan Boyle’s original audition for the programme became a YouTube sensation earlier this year, but her achievements were later marred by reports of an emotional breakdown due to the pressures of fame.

Speaking about her experiences for NBC News, the star revealed: “It’s just been unbelievable – it’s indescribable. Being plucked from obscurity is a bit like going on a long journey, really – you don’t know what’s going to happen. You don’t know how it’s going to end.”

She added: “I don’t want it to end. It’s just really good.”

Britain’s Got Talent judge Simon Cowell recently promised that Boyle’s debut single would be “fantastic”.

ITV admit did make mistakes in their handling Susan Boyle

Sir Michael Grade has admitted that ITV did make mistakes in their handling of Britain’s Got Talent contestant Susan Boyle.

Susan became a worldwide sensation almost overnight, but was later admitted to the Priory with exhaustion after failing to win the show.

Speaking to BBC , the ITV executive chairman said: “Nobody has ever been that famous so quickly in that short space of time, within days, within hours of the show.

“She threw herself into it all and probably didn’t pace herself. I mean, we didn’t pace her well enough. There were American news networks wanting interviews with her, Japanese networks wanting interviews with her and that demand, it was pretty exhausting.

“If you were an established star used to dealing with it, you would have found it pretty exhausting, so it was a difficult time for her dealing with all this stuff.

“But it was just an extraordinary situation and why shouldn’t she enjoy her success? She’s waited all her life.”

Show judge Simon Cowell recently recognised that he had made errors in his treatment of Susan Boyle.

Simon Cowell has claimed that Britain’s Got Talent finalist Susan Boyle sounds “fantastic” on her recently-recorded debut track.

The Scottish singer, who finished runner-up in the ITV reality show, is reported to have completed her first song during a brief break from the ongoing live tour.

Speaking to People, he said: “She sounds fantastic on the record. She’s so good, the album is not going to be show tunes. We’re going to take our time with this.”

It is understood that the 48-year-old star, who was hospitalised for exhaustion earlier this year, also visited the Sony Music headquarters in London for a meeting with executives last week.

An insider has claimed that Boyle was told that she could walk away from the project at any time, adding: “There’s no pressure on her to do this at all.”

Britain’s Got Talent runner-up Susan Boyle has recorded her first track, which has already been praised by the toughest critic on television Simon Cowell.

“I’ve cut one track with her and she sounds fantastic on record. She’s so good, the album is not just going to be showtunes. We’re going to take our time with this,” the Sun quoted Cowell as saying.

When Boyle had first appeared on Britain’s Got Talent, she said that she aspired to become a musical theatre singer “as successful as” Elaine Paige.

The 48-year-old had performed a rendition of “I Dreamed a Dream” from Les Misérables in the first round of the third series of Britain’s Got Talent, which was watched by over 10 million viewers when it aired on 11 April 2009.

Gordon Brown Britain’s Got Talent is really interesting

Gordon Brown has said that Britain’s Got Talent is an “interesting” programme that could hint at the future of the country.

The Prime Minister told The Guardian that the show gives people with talent an opportunity to benefit from their qualities.

Brown said: “I think Britain’s Got Talent is really interesting. What annoyed me when I was at school was that there were lots of people with obvious ability who could’ve benefited from opportunities and were told: ‘It’s not for people like you.’

“And now they’ve got more open ways of coming forward. Surely the future for our country is more that Britain has got talent than it is that Britain is a broken society.”

He suggested that Simon Cowell is liked by people because of his honesty as a judge of talent.

The Prime Minister has publicly praised this year’s winners Diversity and sent a congratulatory letter to Alexandra Burke when she won last year’s X Factor.
